I avoided this book for a long time. I thought the title seemed a bit too shallow and maybe even manipulative. Yep, I literally judged the book by it’s cover. I’m really glad I gave it a chance. Written over 70 years ago, How To Win Friends And Influence People is a engaging book packed full of entertaining stories and anecdotes. I would have paid anything for the chance while he was living to simply sit and listen to Dale Carnegie tell stories. His simple points are just as applicable today as they were when they were first written. Things like “becoming genuinely interested in others” and “being a good listener” seem basic, but are powerful people skills often over looked in 2017.
